Our eco friendly fabric protector is PFAS free. It is made with pure silicon dioxide (SiO2), an inert substance that surrounds us in nature as sand or quartz; the most abundant family of materials on Earth.

Silicone dioxide (SiO2) is a natural substance that is already in use in many products around us, like glass, concrete, cosmetics, food and even the water we drink. protectME does not create silica dust, the silicone dioxide in protectME is amorphous, which means it does not crystallise. For this reason, it is not a health concern.

The recent advancements in nanotechnology have allowed to alter silicon dioxide into its nanoparticle form (meaning each particle size is as small as 1 billionth of a metre), creating such a thin, malleable layer that it could be used as an effective protection barrier on different surfaces.

• Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as PFOA, PFOS, PFCs/Fluorocarbons, GenX (replacement chemical in latest versions of mainstream fabric protectors)
